Cinema-studies section
This section is accessible from the 2nd year in the FIMI department (Core Foundation Engineering Program) and requires no prerequisites.

Following in the footsteps of Auguste and Louis Lumière, engineers and industrialists from Lyon, the cinema-studies section was born in 2019.
Its aim is to provide engineering students with all the tools necessary to carry out a cinematographic project. The training consists of theoretical and practical lessons to allow everyone to explore the possibilities offered by audiovisual art and cinema.
The section, whose launch was officially announced in the cinema room of the Institut Lumière, benefits from a particularly fertile ecosystem in Lyon and Villeurbanne for the 7th art to support student projects and provide students with the best cinematic culture.
